Jay B. Hoflich — Principal & Licensed General Contractor
Jay B. Hoflich — Principal & Licensed General Contractor
Jay is the founder and driving force behind Beetlestone Builders. With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and an MBA from Babson College, he brings a rare combination of technical rigor and business discipline to every project he touches.
Jay began his career as a Civil Engineer and Construction Manager with the U.S. Coast Guard, overseeing multi-million-dollar infrastructure, security, and historic renovation projects across California, Washington, and Oregon. He then spent nearly a decade as a Lead Project Manager with Plant Construction in San Francisco, delivering complex commercial projects for clients including Mercedes-Benz USA, Adobe, Nordstrom, Sega Corporation, the City of San Francisco, and Lockheed-Martin.
Since transitioning into development, Jay has managed the full project lifecycle — from land acquisition and entitlements through financing, construction, and disposition. He is a licensed general contractor in Utah and brings over two decades of hands-on construction and development experience to the Beetlestone team.

Kate Hoflich — Communications & Real Estate Strategy
Kate brings over 20 years of experience in communications, marketing, and business development, including prior work co-founding and operating a real estate development and general contracting company. She holds an active Utah real estate license and a Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing Science from the University of Utah, and supports Beetlestone's outreach, partnerships, and stakeholder communications.
